Missions

Team PageCan one make a difference? What does the community of God look like to a watching world? God calls His people to work out their faith in the world as the body of Christ. At KBCTC we are committed to ongoing discipleship, of both students and staff, in loving God and our neighbour, that the world will know Him who sent us.

As "salt and light", we believe our students are intended to be agents of transformation in the world, preaching the gospel, arresting decay, adding savour, walking a different way. Christ came to give us life to the full and to share this life with others. Our graduates have met this challenge after KBCTC in a tremendous variety of ways, including: working with charities, aid organisations, resuming their occupation (such as in health care, education and finance), moving overseas, church planting, working in community/social action projects, continuing their studies in different disciplines… The only mould we hope they conform to is that of Christ!

During your time at KBCTC you’ll have the opportunity of working with Salt and Light Ministries. This international family of churches works together to see churches equipped, the kingdom of God extended and the nations blessed. You’ll be provided with numerous opportunities to engage in practical ministry and hands-on training including the following:

Mission to Mainland Europe and Africa is an integral part of the KBCTC experience. We take the whole College to Africa every year and regularly send short-term mission teams to Europe including France, Sweden, Belgium, Germany and Spain as well as locations across the UK.

Church Placements provide opportunity for students at weekends and mid-week to apply and develop the skills they are learning in a local church context and to grow in different areas of ministry.

"Transforming culture" is a Term 2 course, providing an opportunity to learn from a variety of practitioners in various spheres of life. It emphasises consideration of how we apply what the Bible says to life in the 21st Century.

Community Outreach is encouraged as soon as students reach KBCTC. Living in and around the city of Oxford provides opportunities for students to reach out to neighbours and residents in the area surrounding The King’s Centre.

Electives during Term 3 are designed to sharpen your thinking and equip you for participating in God’s mission wherever he takes you after KBCTC.
