Internships
Internships are by invitation and are aimed at providing students finishing their 10-month Certificate in Theology and Ministry with a unique opportunity to pursue further studies in areas of specific interest and to be discipled as part of the wider KBCTC team.
Internships are part-time, unpaid and typically last for 6-12 months.
They provide an opportunity to:
> Join a KBCTC Staff Team
> Devote time to academic research in a field of particular interest
> Be provoked to continue to think theologically through further study
> Receive ongoing discipleship and mentoring including leadership skills
> Develop contacts in your chosen field of study
Interns are required to be a self-starters and be able to undertake their studies with a minimal amount of day to day supervision and to be able to work to required deadlines. Interns will be allocated an advisor who will oversee academic work, help construct a bibliography, set objectives for research (to be undertaken through using libraries in the city of Oxford) and evaluate ongoing progress. Toward the end of your internship you will be expected to present your research in a public lecture to students, staff and other interested parties.
In addition to specific responsibilities, this person would also be expected to actively participate in the life of the College community including involvement in academic team meetings, chapel and community lunch on Thursdays, ad hoc evening meetings etc.
