A Day in the Life...

...of Lauren
At around 6.30 I get up, well, sit up, and read a bit of Bible. As I finish attempting to soak up some Word I keep an ear out for the bathroom being free. Community living starts as soon as I leave my room, as I engage with the eternal struggle to get a slot in the shower.
Once this has been achieved it's time to perform the daily kitchen dance, which involves shifting formations at speed to negotiate making sandwiches and breakfast in a cosy space, whilst laughing at each other. My housemates and I soon find ourselves out in the open air and on our way to college.
At 9.00 I join the rest of college as we convene for 'Devotions', during which we actively focus on and worship God, which is helpful after a slightly chaotic start. At 9.30 lectures kick off for the day, I get excited and challenged by turns as all manner of awesome things about the Bible and living it are opened up to us. All this whilst I try to keep my arm attached as my complete inability to summarise means I spend every second writing overly-detailed notes.
Lunchtime arrives, meaning that it's time for lunch, which we often eat together. The afternoon brings various activities, depending of the day of the week, I either chill with college people, get in a bit of paid work in my part-time job, engage with the local community with my 'Community Outreach Group', or get in some academic-type study.
Evenings are similar, with various social gatherings or mild panic about upcoming assignments being two common occurrences. I eventually roll into bed later than I should, hoping to get enough sleep before another day.
Check this, we did a dance at the beginning of Term Two with a dancer from South Africa.
