Prospective Students

NEWSFLASH - 17/08/10
For those who want to apply this for September: If you are a UK or EU student and have not previously been to university you need to apply by 11am THIS FRIDAY (20th Aug) to obtain a place on our validated Certificate HE course. This means you will graduate from KBCTC with 120 credits and a formal qualification. If you already have a degree or are from outside the EU the deadline does not apply, and we can take your applications right until the end of August. See Application Info for more details.
Are you looking for a better connection between head and heart?
KBCTC is far more than a place to come and study, it’s a place where you will have your character shaped and your view of the world changed through knowing God better. For Christian Spirituality is about a lived experience of God the Father, Son and Spirit; a life of worship to God arising from surrender to Him; a life exhibiting the fruit and gifts of the Spirit. This life is lived before God with others and for others. So in an individualistic culture we at KBCTC believe in the importance of a strong, healthy, biblical community.

The heartbeat of KBCTC is our students: a diverse community of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds intent on pursuing God. It’s a vibrant community of worship, prayer and learning, food, fellowship and fun! It’s a community seeking to learn from 2,000 years of Christian tradition and practice, from men and women devoted to learning what it means to walk with God and put him first. This takes on many forms, including the following:
Daily Devotions each morning focus us God-ward as we submit each day to the Lord, setting everything we do in an atmosphere of worship.
Emmaus Groups of students meet for mutual encouragement, sharing each other’s joys and struggles in both academic and personal matters, ministering to others in word, prayer and practice.
Student houses become focal points for much shared life throughout the year. The majority of our students live in these houses across the city of Oxford, giving them the opportunity to live out their faith in the local community. We encourage you to apply early to ensure a place in one of our fully-furnished student houses.
Chapel is our weekly gathering for the whole community (including spouses and young children). It provides an opportunity to bring worship and thankfulness to God using the creativity he has imparted to us, and to let the Holy Spirit embed the Word of God into our lives in a permanent way.
Pastoral Support and Discipleship is provided to students to enable them to grow in their relationship with God whilst studying at KBCTC communal life: we aim to demonstrate to students the importance of the practice of hospitality. To this end, we hold regular community lunches. The year also includes a Weekend Retreat and other special events.
