Why KBCTC?

So you’re thinking of giving a year of your life to study the word of God, to allow it to shape you, mould you and change your whole way of thinking. But with an often bewildering array of colleges and courses on offer, why choose KBCTC?

Passion for the Scriptures

During your time with us our hope is that you would be so impacted by the depth and richness of the Word of God that you would then spend an entire lifetime continuing to dig deeper yourself. A course of ten months cannot hope to do justice to the whole of the Bible; rather our aim is to lay a foundation for the coming years, equipping you with both the desire and the tools to go on learning for the rest of your life.

Life Transformation

"Theology in action" is a phrase we believe encapsulates much of what we do at KBCTC: studying the scriptures and the God about whom they speak should never be reduced to lifeless academic study. Rather as we ‘eat the book’ – chewing, savouring and digesting every morsel – it does something in us: we see who God really is and understand our place in relation to him. We begin to understand his heart for the world and choose to join in his plan, demonstrating Christ’s sacrificial love through the transforming life of the Spirit. As a college we take this process of life transformation seriously and seek to invest significant time and energy in meaningful relationships with each student.

Learning in Community

The task of theology is fundamentally a communal one. KBCTC is therefore a close-knit community, eating together, talking together and learning from one another as we journey through the course of the year. Students are encouraged to truly think theologically: to engage with lecturers, ask questions and explore ideas, all in the context of a safe and supportive network of relationships.
